Compliance Officer - Technical Enquiries

A bit about your role

As the Compliance Officer – Technical Enquiries (fixed-term until May 2027) you will play a key role in supporting the business to meet customer, regulatory and quality expectations. You will manage and respond to technical enquiries, ensuring accurate, timely and consistent information is provided, while also maintaining customer-facing documentation and supporting the integrity of our food safety and quality systems.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product Resolution & Traceability, you will work closely alongside Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales and Customer Experience teams, as well as engaging with external stakeholders such as auditors and regulatory bodies. This is a highly collaborative role where you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance activities, and the ongoing maintenance of systems and processes that support quality performance.

A bit about you

You are a detail-focused and proactive professional with several years’ experience in a compliance, quality, or technical role within a manufacturing or food production environment. You bring proven experience working with technical information, interpreting regulatory requirements, and delivering clear, well-structured responses to a wide range of stakeholders.

You are comfortable managing a few competing priorities at once and bring a calm, organised approach to your work. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you build effective relationships across teams and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve outcomes. You have a natural curiosity, a continuous improvement mindset, and the confidence to work with systems, data, and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Our team plays a critical role in supporting the business through strong systems, robust processes, and a shared commitment to continuous improvement and excellence.

Westland Milk Products is a well-known New Zealand end-to-end dairy manufacturer based in the beautiful South Island, with offices and production facilities in both Christchurch and Hokitika. Owned by the Global Top 5 dairy company Yili Group, Westland Milk Products and its related companies in New Zealand, Oceania Dairy (Glenavy), Pure Nutrition (Rolleston), Canary Foods (Hamilton) and EasiYo (Auckland) form a group that we refer to as the Yili Oceania group. The combined business produces over 170,000mt of finished goods which are then exported to over 40 countries, driving annual revenue well in excess of $1.3B – and growing.
