The New Zealand Qualifications Authority is seeking a Business Support Officer to join the Wellington-based team within External Assessment.
The External Assessment team is at the interface between assessment theory and practice. The team is responsible for the implementation of evidence-based research in order that examinations are of quality and reflect best practice. The two key functions of the team are the development of examinations and the marking of those examinations.
Mo te turanga | About the role
The Business Support Officer delivers administrative support to the External Assessment Team and the wider Assessment Division in line with Service Level Agreements. Key responsibilities may include managing customer service activities, responding to enquiries and correspondence (including email, phone, and written queries), processing claims and invoices, performing data entry and maintaining databases, updating web content, and coordinating travel and accommodation arrangements.
In this role, you will:
- Providing administrative support to the External Assessment team
- Supporting National Assessment Facilitators in their day-to-day work
- Assisting with the development and marking processes for NCEA and Scholarship examinations
- Coordinating and managing assessment-related documentation and information
- Helping to organise and support key assessment activities and timelines
- Working within a complex and evolving environment, adapting to changes as needed
- Contributing to a significant national education process

- Intermediate ability in Microsoft Word and Excel applications, with the ability to develop competence in new applications quickly.

- Ability to maintain quality and quantity of outputs when under pressure and facing tight deadlines.
