EWP Service Technician

Mechanical Access Company are seeking a skilled and reliable EWP Technician to join our team in Wellington. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, fault-finding, and repair of Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs) such as scissor lifts, boom lifts, and cherry pickers. This role requires strong mechanical and/or electrical knowledge, attention to safety standards, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support breakdowns and urgent repairs as needed, including occasional off-site work
  • Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on EWP equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Conduct safety inspections and compliance checks in line with NZ regulations
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports
  • Ensure all work meets health and safety requirements

About You

  • Trade qualification in mechanical, electrical, or diesel engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working with access equipment or heavy machinery
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Full NZ driver's licence (class 1; class 2 is a plus)
  • EWP certification (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality
