Senior Structural Engineer

We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our small and collaborative team in Hamilton.

You will work across a range of residential, industrial, and commercial projects, providing sound engineering judgement, practical design solutions, and high-quality delivery for our clients. Working closely with our clients and project stakeholders, taking ownership of project outcomes and contributing to a strong culture of technical excellence and client satisfaction.

About the role

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of structural projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in the region, providing technical expertise from concept through to completion.

As part of our wider national structural engineering team, you'll collaborate regularly across regions, sharing expertise, resources, and project workload to support delivery across a diverse portfolio of work.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading and delivering structural design work across a range of projects

• Providing technical input on residential, industrial, and commercial designs

• Working closely with clients to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions

• Supporting, mentoring and reviewing the work of other engineers where appropriate

• Contributing to project planning, design coordination, and delivery outcomes

• Undertaking site investigations and technical assessments

About you

We’re looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with 8–10+ years’ experience in New Zealand, with strong technical capability in structural design.

• Strong experience in residential, commercial and/or industrial structural engineering

• Solid understanding of seismic design and NZ Building Code requirements

• CPEng preferred, but not essential

• Strong client-facing skills and ability to build trusted relationships

• Practical, solutions focused engineering approach

• Good project delivery experience from concept through to completion

• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset

• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
