  • Supporting the management of online issues, misinformation and reputational risks through proactive monitoring and response.
  • Supporting and mentoring other Council teams who use social media on the use guidelines and brand

About You

You'll be an experienced creative storyteller who understands how to connect with different audiences and create content that resonates.

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll

  • Have proven experience managing various social media channels and creating engaging digital content.
  • Be confident developing content across a range of formats, including written, visual and video.
  • Have strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences and platforms.
  • Be up to date with emerging social media trends, tools and best practice.
  • Have experience using social media management and analytics platforms to measure success and optimise performance.

A qualification in communications, marketing or a related field is preferred, and experience in local government or the public sector would be an advantage.

At Hutt City Council, our vision is to ensure our city and all of its people thrive. We're working alongside our communities to shape the future of Te Awakairangi, and we want you to be part of that journey.

As part of our Corporate Communications Team, you'll have the opportunity to help tell the stories that matter, connect people with the work we do, and contribute to positive outcomes for our communities.
