The Procurement team at the Christchurch City Council operates as an integral part of the Risk, Finance and Performance group to provide a framework that ensures there is a best practice procurement applied across all Council procurement activities in alignment with Council's vision, strategic priorities and community outcomes. The team is a shared service provide and enabler of Council's business units.
Conducting procurement in a centre-led manner, the Procurement team champions the quality and execution of the procurement and contract management life-cycle. The department consists of a large team that provides safeguarding, servicing and shaping contract management activities across a wide range of Council requirements

The role of Procurement Contract Officer is an ideal position for someone building their career in procurement and contract management.
This is a multifaceted position where no two days are the same and thinking and acting quickly is required. Your role will see you dealing with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally so managing and fostering relationships is imperative.
This role's main focus is supporting and assisting the Engineer's Representatives, Procurement and Contracts Leads and managers with contract management activities.
You'll be assisting team members in delivering contract management tasks. Such tasks include the development of contract management plans, preparation of extension and variation documentation, coordinating correspondence to keep communication open between stakeholders and internal staff, supporting leads in preparation of data for analysis, use of Microsoft and financial apps.

Our main goal is to create a seamless service with respect to contract management activities and procurement expertise, so you'll have the ability to see the finer detail and will be proactive in initiating change where needed.
We are a team that manages a wide variety of contracts from digital solutions to infrastructure maintenance, this requires the candidate to be adaptable to the changing needs and requirements.
Where no two days are the same, the team and role are often in a pressure cooker environment in the journey to delivering outcomes, a cool calm and collected nature will work well. Ideally, you will have experience in public or regulated sector, be highly organised with an eye for detail and interest in contract management. - Hours of work - 37.5-40 hours per week
- Position - Permanent Fulltime
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $74,394 to $82,660 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
