Analyst, Data Quality (Asset Data)

This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week.

The remuneration range for this role is between $80,369 and $113,462 (including KiwiSaver) depending on skills and experience.

The opportunity

Working closely with all parts of Wellington Water involved in the asset lifecycle, you will be primarily responsible for the ingestion, management and analysis to provide ongoing improvement of our asset data. You will play a key role in ensuring that quality asset data is available to everyone who relies on this in their day-to-day work by managing drawings and related information we hold about our assets.

As part of the wider Data Quality function, you will also support:

  • The ingestion and management of various other types of data we manage; and

  • analysis of asset data to remediate historic asset and implement recommendations for

  • the wider organisation to utilise and engage with ongoing data improvement activities through the establishment of standards, policies, guidance, and processes

About you

If you have a strong attention to detail, and eager to continuously learn new platforms, tools and skills this could be the role for you. To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field including; data science, asset management, GIS, data and information management, engineering or draughting

  • 2+ years’ experience in data and information management (preferably infrastructure orientated), including process and data standards development

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: enterprise asset management systems, geospatial platforms, data models, databases, large tabular datasets, or draughting software.

  • Ability to work within an agile environment and/or in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Experience working with one or more of the following, or similar, platforms is highly desirable; InfoAsset, Maximo, or the ESRI / ArcGIS suite of products

Wellington Water Ltd is the professional water services provider across Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa. Our job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed. We’re a multi-council owned entity, tasked to manage the infrastructure and deliver water services to our communities. From 1 July 2026, a new chapter in water services begins. Tiaki Wai will take over responsibility for providing Three Waters Services to approximately 433,000 residents across the Wellington metro regions.

Tiaki Wai will own the water assets it operates giving it greater independence to manage and improve water services for current and future communities, Wellington Water employees will transition into this new council-owned entity.
