IHC New Zealand Wellington Association is looking for an Association Administration Support person to provide high-level administrative support while championing self-advocacy and leadership development within our local community.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

This unique dual-function role provides administrative support to both the Wellington Association Chair and the Self-Advocacy Chair.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of Association operations - while also supporting and empowering people with intellectual disabilities to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and actively participate in their community.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes, and distributing action lists
  • Supporting the Self-Advocacy Chair with meeting preparation, documentation, and follow-up
  • Assisting with training initiatives that strengthen participation and leadership skills
  • Maintaining the local membership database and stakeholder networks
  • Supporting local promotion and community engagement initiatives

This is a part-time role of 6.3 hours per fortnight, ideal for someone looking to contribute meaningfully within their local community.
