We’re seeking a Project Director – Wireless & Critical Infrastructure to join our New Zealand Telecommunications Senior Leadership Team. This is a senior leadership role with real breadth.

You will lead a national portfolio across Wireless and Critical Infrastructure with accountability for delivery performance, commercial outcomes and sustainable growth.

This is not a single-contract delivery role. You will operate across multiple clients, programmes, and delivery models, often with competing priorities and a high degree of complexity.

This role is about more than delivery, it’s about leadership, partnerships, and creating the conditions for teams to perform.

Success in this role depends on your ability to bring structure, commercial discipline, and consistency at a portfolio level, ensuring delivery performance is predictable, client relationships are strong, and a steady pipeline of future work is maintained.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager ANZ Wireless & NZ Telecommunications, you will lead a national portfolio spanning multiple clients, programmes and delivery models.

You will connect strong delivery performance with future work-winning opportunity, shaping both current outcomes and sustained growth across the portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading a national portfolio and team of 90+ to deliver safe, reliable outcomes and strong client performance
• Owning commercial performance, including revenue, margin, cost control and driving sustainable growth across the portfolio
• Building and maintaining client and partner relationships, translating delivery performance into ongoing opportunity
• Driving a consistent pipeline of work across panel, quote-do, bid and tender environments
• Leading and empowering a large, diverse team and subcontractor network, while setting clear expectations, accountability, and capability to enable consistent, high-quality performance

About You

• You are a senior operational and commercial leader who brings people together and delivers results in complex environments.
• You bring structure to complexity and lead with confidence across multiple clients, programmes, and stakeholders.
• You balance delivery, client relationships, and commercial performance, and understand that sustainable growth is built through disciplined execution, clear decision-making, and trusted partnerships.
• You operate at a strategic level while staying close enough to delivery to drive performance and outcomes.

Your Experience

• Leadership experience in telecommunications and/or critical infrastructure, or a related field-based services environment
• Proven experience leading multi-client, multi-programme portfolios at scale
• Strong commercial acumen, including financial performance ownership, contract management, and margin control
• Experience operating in panel, quote-do, bid, tender, or pipeline-driven environments
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and subcontractor relationships
• Ability to contribute at senior leadership level beyond your portfolio
