Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Working within a team of People Business Partners, reporting to the Head of People Business Partnering, you'll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, working closely with them to translate business strategy into people outcomes that deliver real impact. This role has become available as our much loved ‘boomeranger' Wendy heads back home to Bonnie Scotland after another brilliant 3.5 year stint with us, leaving behind strong relationships and a great foundation for you to build on.

You'll operate across both strategic and operational spaces within our Customer Service Delivery team, providing expert guidance on everything from workforce planning and organisational design through to employment relations and change management. You'll partner with a large, complex portfolio, coaching leaders to build capability, confidence and high performing teams, while supporting key programmes and initiatives that shape the future of NZ Post.

You'll Achieve That By

  • Partnering with senior leaders to develop and deliver people strategies
  • Providing expert advice across ER, performance, talent management and engagement
  • Leading and supporting organisational change and transformation initiatives
  • Building leadership capability through coaching and guidance
  • Developing effective relationships with our union delegates and representatives
  • Contributing to wider People team programmes and strategic priorities

Mōu - About You

You're an experienced HR generalist who thrives in a fast paced, complex environment and enjoys working at both a strategic and operational level. You bring strong commercial awareness, sound judgement and the confidence to influence and challenge at senior levels, while building trusted relationships across the business.

You'll be known for your ability to navigate ambiguity, lead through change, and bring others along the journey. You're collaborative, open minded and not afraid to share your perspective, with a genuine passion for developing people and improving outcomes.

You'll Combine That With

  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior HR or Business Partner role
  • Experience supporting leaders in a unionised environment and working with unions.
  • Proven experience supporting senior leaders and large portfolios
  • Expertise in change management and organisational design and/or development
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Ability to influence, challenge and lead through complexity
