Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Portfolio

Help shape smarter lending decisions across one of NZ’s leading banks

You’ll join our Retail Analytics team within Credit Risk Management and partner closely with Product, Risk and other stakeholders to provide insights, challenge strategy and influence decisions that directly impact portfolio performance.

Te tūranga | The role

You’ll combine strong analytical capability with commercial thinking to:

• Deliver dashboards, reporting and insights that support portfolio monitoring and decision-making
• Provide quality analysis, recommendations and papers to support credit strategy and governance
• Partner with stakeholders across Line 1, Line 2 and Product to deliver practical, risk-informed solutions
• Provide robust review and challenge across policy, scorecards and credit strategy initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, automation and portfolio outcomes
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a range of audiences

You’ll bring a strong mix of technical capability, commercial thinking and stakeholder engagement.

We’re Looking For

• Experience in credit risk, analytics or a related discipline (typically 5+ years)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver clear, practical recommendations
• Technical capability across SQL, SAS, Snowflake or Databricks, and Power BI or Tableau
• Solid understanding of retail lending and credit risk management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities across BAU and project work
