Te whiwhinga mahi - Our opportunity
This is a newly created role within Kāinga Ora’s People and Assurance team, reporting to the Manager, People Systems & Intelligence.
The People Technology & Systems Lead will lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of people-related systems and technologies. Working across key business groups—including HR, Finance, and enterprise technology functions—this role ensures people data, systems, and processes are integrated, aligned, and effectively support organisational priorities.
The role will play a key part in strengthening how people information is managed and used across platforms such as HRIS, finance systems, and wider enterprise technologies. This includes enabling effective system integration, improving data quality and integrity, and supporting consistent, user-friendly experiences for those who rely on people data for planning and decision-making.
At Kāinga Ora, we are continuing to evolve how we use digital tools, including AI and automation, to better support our people and services. In this role, the focus will be on applying these technologies in practical, responsible, and transparent ways, enhancing efficiency, supporting informed decision-making, and improving service delivery. This includes ensuring appropriate governance, building trust in how AI-enabled tools are used, and supporting safe and ethical adoption across the organisation.
A key priority will be ensuring that systems, automation, and AI-enabled tools are used to reduce administrative burden and streamline routine processes. The intent is to better support our people in their roles, enhancing capability, improving access to information, and enabling more time to focus on higher-value, people-centred work.
The role will also contribute to uplifting workforce capability by ensuring people have the tools, confidence, and support needed to work effectively in a more integrated, digitally enabled environment, with a strong focus on usability, adoption, and continuous improvement.
