Taitara Mahi - Capital Programme Manager – Public Spaces & Buildings

We’re looking for an experienced project leader to manage a diverse programme of capital and renewal projects across Council buildings and high-profile public spaces. In this role, you’ll lead projects from planning through to delivery, coordinate contractors and consultants, manage contracts and budgets, and keep key stakeholders informed along the way. This is a great opportunity to help shape places that matter to our community while working across a wide range of building and public space initiatives.
Ōu wheako – about you
You’ll bring 8+ years' experience managing capital or infrastructure projects, along with strong programme planning, contract management and financial oversight skills. You’ll be confident working with consultants, contractors, community stakeholders and internal teams, and able to provide clear, timely advice throughout the project lifecycle. A relevant qualification, for example a Diploma in Construction (Level 6) (Construction Management) or (Quantity Surveying) or Advanced qualification in relevant construction trade and/or equivalent experience, recognised project management capability and experience in residential and small commercial construction, including sound knowledge of building and construction practices will set you up for success. Just as important, you’ll be a collaborative and accountable professional who can turn strategy into practical delivery.
