DDS IT is seeking an experienced

Senior Cloud & Solutions Architect to help shape and deliver innovative cloud solutions for our customers. This is an opportunity to combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership, working across cloud transformation, modernisation, and customer engagements within a growing New Zealand technology services organisation.

This role offers a unique balance of customer engagement, solution architecture, pre-sales involvement, and technical leadership. Working closely with customers, Sales, Account Management, and technical delivery teams, you will design practical, scalable solutions that deliver real business outcomes while supporting the continued growth and maturity of DDS IT's Cloud Practice.

What you'll be doing

You will play a key role in guiding customers through their cloud journey, from initial discovery and solution design through to implementation and optimisation. You'll act as a trusted advisor, helping organisations modernise their environments while ensuring solutions are secure, resilient, and aligned to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Leading customer discovery workshops, architecture engagements, and technical advisory conversations
• Designing and governing cloud solutions across Cloud environments, with consideration for security, resilience, operational excellence, and cost optimisation
• Supporting cloud migration, modernisation, and transformation initiatives across infrastructure, applications, and modern workplace technologies
• Partnering closely with Sales and Account Management teams to shape opportunities, contribute to proposals, and develop Statements of Work
• Providing technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout project delivery
• Developing reusable architecture patterns, standards, and best practices to strengthen DDS IT's cloud capability
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the Cloud Practice

Desired Skills And Experience

What we're looking for

We're looking for a customer-focused architect with proven experience delivering cloud solutions within consulting, managed services, or enterprise environments. You will be equally comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, facilitating technical workshops, and working alongside engineers to bring solutions to life.

You Will Also Bring

• Strong experience designing and delivering solutions within Microsoft Azure environments
• Experience across cloud migration, transformation, and modernisation initiatives
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation practices using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or similar
• An understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD practices, and modern delivery approaches
• Broad technical exposure across areas such as identity, networking, security, hybrid infrastructure, containers, and cloud governance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes
• A practical, hands-on approach combined with strong commercial awareness and problem-solving capability
