Are you a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to kick start your career in a unique, hands-on environment? Join the Milford Road Alliance and gain real world experience working on one of New Zealand's most iconic and challenging transport corridors.
This is more than just a graduate role - it's an opportunity to develop into a well-rounded engineer with exposure to site operations, project delivery, and contract management, all while working alongside experienced industry professionals in the heart of Fiordland.
As a Site Engineer, you will support the delivery of maintenance and construction works on the Milford Road network. You'll split your time between the office and the field, gaining practical experience while contributing to meaningful infrastructure outcomes.
This role is designed to build your technical capability, commercial awareness, and operational confidence through structured development and hands-on learning.
The key responsibilities in this role include
- Assist with planning and coordinating daily work to support site crews
- Monitor site progress and track work against programme timelines
- Participate in site inspections and help identify risks and improvements
- Assist with cost tracking, job costing, and quantifying completed work
- Support the preparation of progress claims and reporting
- Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and site crews
- Gain exposure to site supervision, resource planning, and contract delivery
- Promote safe work practices and personal accountability on site

You'll ideally bring:
- A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering
- A full drivers license
- A strong willingness to learn and develop your skills
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities

- Adaptability and enthusiasm for working in an outdoor environment
- A genuine commitment to safety and continuous improvement
