Principal Enterprise Architect - Integration & Channel Enablement

IAG

Remote

At IAG, we’re ready for you. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible.

As a Principal Enterprise Architect – Integration & Channel Enablement, you will play a key role in shaping the integration and API architecture that connects IAG’s technology ecosystems—enabling seamless, scalable experiences across customer, partner and internal channels.

This is a pivotal role sitting at the intersection of business strategy and technology transformation. You’ll take ownership of the architecture vision and roadmap for integration and channel enablement, ensuring our connectivity, APIs and channel platforms evolve to support scalable growth, innovation and seamless experiences across retail, intermediated and enterprise ecosystems.

Working across our Integration & Channel Enablement pillar, you’ll collaborate with business and technology leaders to influence decisions that balance speed, flexibility and enterprise-wide scale—while maintaining a clear, future-focused architecture direction. Furthermore, with significant AI-led opportunity, this role is central to evolving IAG’s enterprise ecosystem, integration capabilities and architectural maturity, and to confidently partnering with EGM-level stakeholders.

This is a permanent full-time role based in multiple locations across Australia.

  • Own the architecture roadmap, ensuring scalable, coherent connectivity across internal and external platforms
  • Shape and evolve IAG’s enterprise API strategy, including governance, lifecycle management and API-first design
  • Lead cross-channel thinking—ensuring seamless integration across customer, partner and broker platforms
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, modernise and optimise integration and channel architectures
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, solution architects and delivery teams to bring strategy to life
  • Influence enterprise-wide decisions to ensure integration investments support a reusable, scalable connectivity layer

What You'll Bring

  • Strong knowledge of API platforms, middleware, event-driven architectures and multi-channel ecosystems
  • Proven ability to define architecture strategies and roadmaps and translate them into delivery outcomes at scale
  • Experience shaping API strategy and governance within complex enterprises
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across multiple portfolios and ecosystems
  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on problem solving in ambiguous environments
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience, with Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g. TOGAF) advantageous but not essential

  • 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what’s important to you).
