About the role | Mō te tūranga

This is a role where your work genuinely matters.

You’ll support people who need extra care and protection - often because of injury, illness, or court-appointed arrangements. Many of the people you’ll work with don’t choose this service, so building trust and taking a respectful, steady approach is essential.

You’ll manage your own portfolio of trusts, estates and personal affairs. This means keeping things on track, handling day-to-day administration, and helping people understand what’s happening in a clear, simple way.

Some days will be planned and process driven. Others will bring urgent or complex situations that need your attention. You’ll work closely with your team, sharing responsibility for a central inbox and phone line, supporting each other, and protecting the privacy of the people you work with.

You don’t need to know everything on day one. We’ll give you time to settle in, learn how we work, and build confidence before taking on more.

About you | Ngā kōrero mōu

You care about doing the right thing and doing it well.

You’re calm under pressure and approach sensitive situations with empathy and respect. You understand that people’s lives can be complex, and you take the time to listen and respond thoughtfully.

You’re organised and comfortable managing a busy workload. You keep track of details, follow things through, and stay on top of your work.

You might come from a legal, trustee or government background - or another role where you’ve worked with complex cases or vulnerable people. Experience with trusts, estates, or legal processes is helpful, but not essential.

What matters most is how you work, you:

  • communicate clearly and build trust with others
  • show resilience in challenging situations
  • stay organised and pay attention to detail
  • work well as part of a team
  • are comfortable with systems and admin work
  • balance empathy with sound judgement

Above all, you bring care, consistency and a willingness to learn.
