Step aboard two of Queenstown's most iconic vessels, the historic TSS Earnslaw and the Spirit of Queenstown. Become part of an unforgettable guest experience on and around Lake Whakatipu.
As a Host, you'll be at the heart of our operation, creating memorable moments for guests from around the world while working in one of New Zealand's most unique tourism environments. From delivering exceptional food and beverage service to supporting daily vessel operations, no two days are ever the same.
Whether you're welcoming guests onboard, serving in our café/bar and restaurant, assisting with boarding, supporting special events, or helping maintain the presentation of our vessels, you'll play an important role in ensuring every guest leaves with a story to tell. Our team works across both our Queenstown vessels and Walter Peak, with this role mainly based on the TSS Earnslaw and Spirit of Queenstown.
Working on the water brings variety, challenge, and the opportunity to be part of a close-knit team that takes pride in delivering experiences that are truly extraordinary.
This is a Fixed term role for the Summer season with Permanent positions available for the right candidate.
What We're Looking For
- At least one year of food and beverage experience, including bar and barista skills.
- A confident host who enjoys engaging with guests and delivering consistently high standards of service.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team.
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute to all aspects of the operation, from guest service and food & beverage delivery to cleaning and vessel presentation.
- The ability to remain positive, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
