As a Software Specialist (Release Engineer), you’ll sit at the heart of engineering delivery - enabling teams to ship high-quality software to production frequently, safely, and at scale.

This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll combine deep engineering capability with release engineering and DevOps expertise. You’ll lead how we design, build, and optimise CI/CD pipelines, coordinate complex release activities across squads, and embed automation and reliability into everything we deploy.

You’ll play a key role in improving lead time, reducing release risk, and driving a more mature, continuous delivery capability across our platforms.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Designing, managing, and optimising CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
  • Leading complex, multi-team release activities across distributed systems and platforms
  • Driving automation across build, test, deploy, and release workflows
  • Ensuring release quality through strong engineering standards, environment consistency, and deployment controls
  • Partnering with engineering, platform, and testing teams to manage dependencies and release readiness
  • Supporting production deployments, incident response, and continuous improvement of release stability
  • Embedding DevOps practices to improve deployment frequency, reduce failure rates, and increase recovery speed
  • Coaching engineers and lifting capability across release engineering and delivery practices

Ngā mea kia whai angitū ahau? | What will help me succeed?

You’ll bring strong engineering fundamentals, combined with hands-on release and DevOps experience:

  • Proven experience in release engineering, DevOps, or build & deployment engineering roles, ideally within a Salesforce
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tooling (e.g. Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
  • Solid understanding of software delivery pipelines, automation, and release orchestration
  • Experience working in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Experience orchestrating releases for the Salesforce platform.
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices (version control, automated testing, infrastructure as code)
  • Experience coordinating releases across multiple systems, environments, or squads
  • Ability to balance speed, quality, risk, and reliability in delivery decisions
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to work across engineering, platform, and business teams
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement, automation, and operational excellence
