Analyst Transaction Monitoring Detection

We’re looking for an Analyst to join the team – someone who enjoys working with data, solving complex problems, and turning insights into action.

Te tūranga | The role

You’ll play a key role in supporting and optimising ASB’s Transaction Monitoring programme. This is a hands-on analytics role where your work directly influences how we detect and respond to financial crime risk.

You Will

• Support analytics and reporting that monitors and improves transaction monitoring performance
• Analyse financial crime data to identify trends, anomalies, and root causes
• Translate insights into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders
• Contribute to the optimisation of detection rules, models, and processes
• Help ensure systems and processes meet regulatory and internal framework requirements
• Partner with internal teams, CBA stakeholders, and vendors to deliver improvements
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance detection capability

Ō pūkenga | About you

You don’t need to tick every box, but strong candidates will bring:

• Experience working with data and analytics tools (SQL, Python, Oracle, Teradata or similar)
• Strong analytical thinking and an investigative mindset
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to a range of stakeholders
• Experience working in financial services, risk, or financial crime (preferred)
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working (advantageous)
• A continuous improvement mindset and curiosity to challenge the status quo
• Relevant tertiary qualification in a quantitative or technology-related field
