Mō tēnei tūranga | About the Opportunity
As the People Solutions Manager - Employment Relations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across our ER portfolio, leading a team focused on delivering high-quality, consistent, and pragmatic support across the Co-op.
With customer experience and continuous improvement at the forefront, you will contribute to the design, development, and execution of the People Solutions roadmap, ensuring ER practices are clear, practical, and aligned to business needs. Working closely with senior leaders and P&C, you will play a critical role in supporting confident, compliant, and people-centric decision-making.
* Oversee end to end ER, including complex ER in collaboration with our ER COE
* Contribute to the success of People Solutions as a key part of the P&C Operating Model
* Drive continuous improvement, embedding fit-for-purpose ER frameworks, tools, and processes,
* Lead a team that is focused on enabling and empowering leaders to lead their team confidently, particularly through ER related matters.
* Support uplift in capability across the business, coaching leaders and enabling better self-service on people matters
Mōu | About You
This is a fast-paced and complex environment, and we’re looking for a confident ER leader who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on guidance across a wide range of people matters while leading an operation. You’ll bring deep employment relations expertise and experience building and leading teams.
You are a trusted and credible communicator, able to influence and partner effectively at all levels, particularly in challenging or sensitive situations. With a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach, you’ll bring sound judgement, commercial acumen, and a strong people lens. You’re also comfortable challenging the status quo and driving continuous improvement.
Ideally, you will bring:
* Experience leading large or complex ER / HR advisory teams
* Strong, hands-on experience managing ER casework, including high-risk and sensitive matters
* Experience within a shared services and/or customer-focused environment
* Sound understanding of employment law, union engagement, and collective agreements
* The ability to translate ER frameworks into practical, business-ready outcomes
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
