Coordinated and supported the installation, assembly, and commissioning of complex baggage handling and parcel conveyor systems within airport, distribution, and logistics environments. Responsibilities included interpreting engineering drawings and layout plans, installing conveyor frames, drives, motors, controls, and mechanical components, ensuring proper alignment and functionality of equipment, and collaborating with project managers, electricians, and field teams to meet project schedules. Assisted with system testing, troubleshooting, startup activities, and quality inspections to verify operational performance, safety compliance, and customer specifications. Worked on high-volume material handling systems designed to efficiently transport baggage and parcels through screening, sorting, accumulation, and distribution processes.

Requirements

Specific Responsibilities

  • Prepares and lays out materials for installation
  • Identify shortages in material and equipment
  • Sets up all layouts for targeted conveyor installations per the system drawings
  • Install all conveyors to the customer specific drawings and specifications
  • Responsible for the proper packaging, identifying and moving of all finished products to the proper location
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use
  • Performs first piece inspections as well as all subsequent inspections

Education, Skills, And Experience

  • Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Experience in conveyor installation
  • Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trade
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of welding, steam fitting, and insulation trades
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to work from sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and broken parts
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used on work assignments
  • Construction knowledge; high energy level; professionalism

Position Information

  • Full Time position; hourly with benefits
  • Work Schedule: 45+ hours per week. Which may include evenings and weekends
  • This position will work from jobsites throughout the Unites States with the home office based out of Memphis, TN and report directly to the General Superintendent, substantial travel is required.
