About The Team
The Financial Reporting team delivers external financial reporting and tax compliance, maintains a strong financial control environment, and provides technical accounting and tax advice across the organisation.
The team also manages Transpower’s accounting, tax and regulatory asset registers, ensuring capital investment is accurately reflected for pricing, regulatory and revenue purposes. Over the next 12–18 months, this role will also contribute to our finance systems replacement programme, helping design and embed improved processes and reporting.
About The Opportunity
As Senior Financial Accountant, you’ll lead the delivery of external financial reporting and group tax obligations. As the team’s tax subject matter expert, you’ll partner with leaders across the business on GST and other tax matters, and develop clear, well-reasoned technical positions. You’ll also contribute to change initiatives across the year, including systems and reporting improvements and preparation for new requirements such as IFRS 18.
Working alongside the Financial Reporting Manager, you’ll help strengthen the financial and tax control framework and identify smarter ways of working through process improvement, systems and automation. You’ll also support specialised regulatory reporting requirements, including RBNZ reporting for our captive insurer.
