Store Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Store Manager to lead daily operations at our fast-food retail store specialising in Pizza, Burgers, and Kebabs. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing store performance, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a candidate with a strong background in food service or retail management.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all day-to-day store operations including opening, operating, and closing procedures
  • Lead, train, roster, and supervise a team of food service staff
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation at all times
  • Ensure full compliance with the Food Act 2014, Food Safety Plans, and relevant health and safety legislation
  • Manage stock ordering, inventory control, stock rotation, and waste minimisation
  • Handle cash management, end-of-day reconciliation, and basic financial reporting
  • Resolve customer complaints and feedback in a professional and timely manner
  • Liaise with suppliers, monitor pricing, and ensure accurate delivery and invoicing
  • Ensure the store meets all local council, landlord, and regulatory requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in food service, hospitality, or retail, OR
  • A relevant qualification in Hospitality Management, Business, Retail Management, or a related field (Level 4 or above on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework or equivalent)

Skills & Competencies

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and retail operations
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound numeracy skills and experience with cash handling and basic financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications
  • Reliable, organised, and capable of working independently

Working Conditions

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Minimum Hours: 30 hours per week

Working Hours: Rostered shifts across 7 days including weekends and public holidays

Shift Range: Approximately 8:00am – 11:00pm (variable by roster)
