Quality Advisor Transmission

Northpower

About The Role

Quality isn't just about compliance. It's about helping teams do great work, identifying opportunities to improve, and ensuring the right processes are in place to support safe and successful project delivery.

We're looking for a Quality Assurance Advisor to join our Transmission & Growth team based in Hamilton on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an opportunity to work closely with operational leaders, field teams, and stakeholders across the business to strengthen quality systems, drive continuous improvement, and support the delivery of critical electricity infrastructure projects.

In this role, you'll be out in the field as well as working alongside our operational teams, providing guidance, assurance, and support to ensure quality standards are understood, implemented, and continuously improved.

Role Responsibilities

As the Quality Assurance Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting quality performance across our Transmission operations. Working closely with operational teams, you will conduct audits, site visits, and assurance activities to ensure quality standards and processes are being followed. You will help manage audit findings and support teams to implement corrective actions, while identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and overall operational performance. The role also involves supporting both internal and external audits, maintaining quality documentation, and contributing to the ongoing development of our quality management framework. Beyond compliance, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business by coaching and mentoring teams, promoting best practice, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the division.

About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people just as much as they enjoy working with systems and processes.

You'll be comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, from field crews through to senior leaders, and you'll have the confidence to ask questions, challenge where required, and support teams to achieve better outcomes.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in quality assurance, auditing, operational excellence, or a similar role.
  • Business or Tertiary qualification relevant to the electrical industry, quality management or operations management.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 principles and quality governance.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to influence, coach, and guide teams through change.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Experience within the electricity, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or construction sectors would be highly regarded.
