Sales Manager

We are a New Zealand-based automotive company specialising in the import, distribution, and sale of Chinese electric vehicles (EVs). As demand for EVs continues to grow, we are expanding our operations and seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales team in the showroom in Auckland.

This is a full-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and market growth objectives.

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the showroom's day-to-day sales activities.

  • Establish sales targets and monitor performance against budgets and business objectives.

  • Plan and oversee advertising, promotional, and brand awareness campaigns.

  • Oversee vehicle pricing strategies, promotional offers, and sales campaigns to maximise sales performance.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with individual customers, corporate clients, and business partners.

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory is available to meet customer demand.

  • Provide expert product information and advice to customers regarding electric vehicles, charging solutions, vehicle technologies, and ownership benefits.

  • Coordinate vehicle launches, showroom events, exhibitions, and community engagement activities.

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate sales staff to achieve sales targets and maintain high standards of customer service.

  • Monitor customer satisfaction and implement initiatives to improve the overall customer experience.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant consumer, automotive, and workplace legislation and company policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least five years of relevant experience in sales management in the automotive industry.

  • Proven experience in achieving sales growth targets.

  • Sound knowledge of electric vehicle technologies, charging infrastructure, battery systems, vehicle performance features, and emerging EV market trends.

  • Understanding of customer purchasing behaviours and market developments within the automotive sector.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and achieve business objectives.
