Babbage is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager & Lead Stormwater Engineer to help shape the future of our water infrastructure capability.

The Opportunity

This is more than a project delivery role. We're looking for a recognised stormwater specialist who can provide technical leadership across complex infrastructure projects, act as a trusted advisor to clients, and help drive the future growth of our stormwater and water infrastructure offering. You'll work closely with local authorities, developers, contractors and key stakeholders to deliver practical, resilient and future-focused solutions, while mentoring engineers and contributing to strategic business decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of stormwater and water infrastructure projects
  • Lead the planning, design and delivery of complex infrastructure projects from concept through to construction
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping shape project strategy and long-term infrastructure outcomes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, developers, contractors and key stakeholders
  • Provide technical oversight, review and quality assurance across project teams
  • Mentor, coach and develop engineers across varying levels of experience
  • Contribute to the growth and development of Babbage's water infrastructure capability
  • Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client engagement and market development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions
  • Promote innovation, best practice and continuous improvement across projects and teams

What You'll Bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) preferred
  • Significant experience delivering stormwater and water infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical expertise across stormwater planning, design and project delivery
  • Established client relationships and stakeholder management experience
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and influence project outcomes
  • A reputation for technical excellence, practical problem solving and sound engineering judgement
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project delivery drivers
  • A passion for developing people and contributing to team success
