The Opportunity
As a Job Change Fitter reporting to the Job Change Manager, you will work in a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 2.30pm at our Visy Glass, Penrose Site. This is a diverse and varied role where you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support seamless operations.
Responsibilities
Working in the Hot End of the manufacturing plant, you will apply your mechanical skills to perform job change activities, ensuring the efficient, safe, and quality-controlled production of glass products. Once the machine is back in production, you’ll follow the flow of Glass Bottles down the production lines whilst conducting checks and finally ensuring that the Pack is correct on the Pallet. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Perform all aspects of product changeovers. Change out the moulding equipment and re-setting the mechanisms on the Glass Bottle Forming Machines.
- Ensure the Job Change meets the quality and operational requirements.
- Conduct quality checks, identifying defects and initiate corrective actions.
- Accurate job change record keeping.
- Work to high standards in meeting safety and occupational health demands in the workplace.
What You Will Bring To The Team
As our new Job Change Fitter, you will have prior experience within an industrial/manufacturing environment, preferably within a similar environmental condition as the Hot End (i.e. Steel industry). You will be a proactive team player with the ability to work under urgency and pressure with a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand tools and precision instruments
- Mechanical Trade qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
- Basic understanding of Excel and PC literate. Possess good written and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
