Our Patient Services Department is responsible for the collection of blood samples and handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, urine, tissue etc from patients within the community and the hospital. These samples are then processed and tested in our state-of-the-art medical laboratory.

About the role | Mō te tūranga:

We are currently seeking three Phlebotomists to join our team in three part time roles within a supportive clinical environment. Each position is 20 hours per week and involves providing high quality specimen collection services while always ensuring patient comfort safety and professionalism.

We are looking for reliable, detail oriented individual with strong phlebotomy experience and excellent interpersonal skills, who are confident working both independently and as part of a healthcare team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Blood collection, responsible for handling contained specimens, i.e., human blood, faeces, and tissue, and preparing specimens for transportation.
  • Provide professional customer service, and serve as a link between health professionals, their patients, and the laboratory.

  • Registration with the Medical Science Council and an Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

If you do not yet have your registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, we will also consider candidates who are in the process of becoming qualified.
