What You’ll Be Doing
- Engage fully in McCain’s comprehensive apprenticeship programme, including off-site block courses and training as required.
- Work alongside experienced electricians, maintenance teams, and production staff to support plant reliability and performance.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and automation across the site.
- Progress toward achieving all competency requirements for a qualified electrical tradesperson.
- Participate in all required training and development activities to support ongoing professional growth.
- Build confidence and capability over time, taking increasing responsibility for electrical tasks under supervision.
- Follow all company policies, including food safety, hygiene, occupational health & safety, and McCain’s Code of Conduct.
- Maintain a strong commitment to electrical safety and safe work practices, including compliance with lockout/tagout procedures.
- Carry out additional duties as directed, within your training and capability.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams across shifts.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
- Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent), with passes in Mathematics, Science, and English.
- A genuine interest in electrical systems, automation, or engineering.
- Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
- Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Practical mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
- Driver’s licence (desirable).
