Electrical Foreman

Are you an experienced Electrical Foreman / Supervisor looking for a change, or to move into the renewable energy space? Or a Senior Electrician / Solar Installer who is ready to step up and lead?

Aotea Southern is looking for a Solar Foreman (Foreperson) to lead our growing solar department and deliver high-quality installations in Dunedin.

About The Role

You’ll lead teams delivering residential and commercial solar projects. You’ll take ownership of day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will report to an experienced Solar Project Manager, who prides himself on developing innovative design solutions to meet the needs of the client, so you and the team can focus on providing a high-quality install.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead installation teams across solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging projects
• Manage day-to-day site activities, including staff, materials, and Health & Safety.
• Coordinate projects from start to finish and problem-solve on the go.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams
• Ensure all work meets NZ electrical standards and Aotea quality expectations
• Commission and hand over completed systems to happy clients.

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Electrician with current EWRB practising licence
• Solar endorsement preferred (or training provided for the right person)
• Proven experience leading teams on-site, whether in an official leadership role or not.
• Strong residential/commercial electrical experience
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and solutions-focused
• Full NZ driver’s licence
