We’re looking for a People Systems Lead to take enterprise ownership of our People Systems landscape - setting direction, driving outcomes, and ensuring our systems remain fit-for-purpose as our organisation evolves.
Te tūranga | The role
This is a key leadership role where you’ll own the People Systems solution area end-to-end, bringing a product mindset to how systems are shaped, governed and delivered.
You’ll translate People strategy into system strategy, ensuring clear prioritisation, strong governance, and delivery outcomes that balance pace, risk and long-term sustainability.
Importantly, you’ll create clarity across People, Technology and Delivery - embedding strong ownership, reducing reliance on informal workarounds, and lifting confidence in system-enabled decisions across the organisation.
Ngā kawenga | What you’ll be doing
- Own and lead the People Systems solution area across the employee lifecycle with enterprise-wide accountability
- Set direction for how People systems are shaped, evolved and optimised to meet business needs
- Lead and align key technical roles (People Systems Specialist and Analyst) to deliver clear outcomes
- Be accountable for delivery quality, experience and governance across all system changes
- Define and embed design principles and governance guardrails across People systems
- Own system health, lifecycle strategy and long-term sustainability of the platform landscape
- Translate People strategy into system roadmaps, investment options and prioritisation decisions
- Identify and manage system risk, dependencies and technical debt at an enterprise level
- Partner with senior Technology and Delivery stakeholders to ensure clean, integrated outcomes
Ō pūkenga | What you’ll bring
You’ll bring a mix of strategic thinking, systems expertise and leadership capability:
- Enterprise-level experience leading People systems environments (e.g. ServiceNow HRSD, SnapHire, Cornerstone LMS, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar)
- Strong understanding of system architecture, integrations and end-to-end impacts
- Experience operating in complex environments with strong focus on risk, governance and controls
- Proven ability to translate business strategy into system strategy, roadmaps and investment decisions
- Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams and ability to influence across boundaries
- Confidence making high-quality decisions in ambiguous, high-impact environments
- Strong stakeholder management across People, Technology and Delivery functions
- Ability to lift organisational capability and reduce reliance on informal knowledge or workarounds
