We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join our Roadmarking team in Christchurch as the new Department Manager. In this role, you'll lead a capable team, shape how the department runs and drive safe, high-quality delivery, helping us keep communities moving and roads safer across the region.

As our Roadmarking Department Manager, you'll lead the successful, safe and profitable operation of the roadmarking department based out of Hornby, Christchurch. This is a role with real scope, you'll lead people, build strong customer relationships, drive performance, and keep a close eye on quality, safety and commercial results. You'll be trusted to shape the way the department runs, back your team, and keep work moving forward.

- Effectively manage client relationships to ensure continued success
- Be responsible for preparation of estimates and tendering
- Oversee daily operational activities including resourcing, programming of works, contractual operations and obligations
- Manage financial performance, reporting, ensuring optimisation of financial outcomes
- Evaluate performance and foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Manage the training and development of staff while fostering a collaborative and cohesive team environment

- Proven experience managing business units, ensuring high-quality outcomes and efficient use of resources.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with a strong focus on people, safety and quality.
- A strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and job costing.
- The ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with a variety of different stakeholders.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and procedures.
