Occupational Health Nurse | Whangārei
Staff Care and Habit Health have joined our networks, our shared expertise, resources, and commitment to quality care to further strengthen the services we provide to local businesses and communities. This creates an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our team and play an important role in delivering high-quality occupational health services across Te Tai Tokerau.
Based at our Staff Care Reyburn Street clinic, you'll work with a diverse range of businesses and industries, providing occupational health assessments, health monitoring, injury prevention services, and workplace health advice. While experience in occupational health is welcomed, it is not essential. We offer comprehensive training, mentoring, and ongoing support to help you build confidence and develop specialist occupational health skills, making this an excellent opportunity for Registered Nurses looking to expand their clinical expertise in a supportive team environment.
This is a part-time permanent role with flexibility to suit the successful candidate. There may also be opportunities to work additional hours above your base FTE during periods of increased client demand and workload. Due to the nature of the role, regular travel throughout the region is required.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver occupational health assessments and provide clear clinical recommendations
- Conduct health monitoring, pre-employment medicals, vaccinations, biological monitoring, and other occupational health services
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and timely reporting
- Build strong relationships with clients, employers, and healthcare professionals
- Manage schedules, equipment, and patient management systems effectively
- Support workplace health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives
- Promote our services and identify opportunities to support existing and new clients
- Able to work independently and collaboratively, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
What you'll bring
- Registered Nurse with a current NZ Annual Practising Certificate
- Strong nursing experience, ideally within primary care, community, or workplace health settings.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A proactive, professional, and solution-focused approach
- Confidence using clinical systems and digital technology
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Health & Safety and Privacy requirements
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence
Occupational health experience is advantageous but not essential. Full training and support will be provided for the right candidate.
Why join us?
- Competitive salary package
- Professional development and study support
- Flexible working hours where possible
- Annual flu vaccination and wellbeing initiatives
- Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
- Regular team events, recognition programmes, and social activities
- Career development opportunities within a growing national healthcare organisation
Whether you're an experienced Occupational Health Nurse or an experienced Registered Nurse looking for a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you.
