About the role
We are seeking an ambitious Knowledge Manager to join our team, based out of our Auckland office. Reporting to the Managing Partner and Legal Support Director, this role will play a key part in the ongoing shaping and delivery of the firm’s knowledge and workflow management strategy, including enhancing the effective use of AI-enabled tools. This is a unique opportunity to work collaboratively across the firm to strengthen how knowledge and workflows are accessed, shared and applied to support our team in working together for exceptional outcomes.
The Knowledge Manager will work closely with partners, professional support lawyers, library/research services and business support teams, to:
- Lead the firm’s knowledge and workflow management framework, ensuring legal and operational knowledge is effectively captured, organised and shared
- Partner with stakeholders across the firm in relation to knowledge needs and resources
- Evaluate and drive the adoption of knowledge and AI enabled tools supporting the enhancement of workflows, platforms, documentation automation and research capability
- Oversee information governance to ensure high-quality, compliant and accessible knowledge assets
- Champion knowledge-tools and a knowledge sharing culture through training and engagement initiatives
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Demonstrated experience in knowledge management (KM); legal research (including tools and databases); information services or a related discipline
- Proven experience working with document and knowledge management systems
- Strong understanding of KM principles including knowledge capture, classification, storage, retrieval and reuse, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
- Solid understanding of legal workflows, legal terminology and the practical knowledge needs of lawyers and business support teams
- Proven ability to lead adoption of new technologies, including AI-enabled tools. Must have a high-level IT skill base
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic and user-focus on innovation and continuous improvement
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across all levels of the business
- Experience designing and delivering training or facilitating workshops in person and virtual environments
- High level of integrity, professionalism and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Exceptional eye for detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
