Join our Ministerial Services team, where you'll play a key role in supporting the flow of advice and information to the office of the Minister for Children. In this fast-paced environment, you will manage the effective and timely flow of documents to meet applicable deadlines and quality and performance standards, and draft responses to correspondence, information requests, or other matters on request.

This position requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. A successful may have experience working across an organisation to deliver to the needs of a Minister. Previous experience working with or in a Minsters office is desirable but not necessary.

This role is office based in our Wellington National Office with flexible WFH options. Due to the operational requirements and dynamic nature of the role, it will be beneficial for you to have the close support of the team around you. Candidates for this role are required to already be based in Wellington or be willing to relocate for this opportunity.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include:

  • Coordinate the effective, secure and timely flow of documents to meet applicable deadlines and quality and performance standards
  • Drafting and coordinating written Parliamentary Questions responses and aide memoires/briefings (as required) for the Minister’s Office
  • Building and maintain strong working relationships across Oranga Tamariki, Minister’s Office, and other departments and agencies as appropriate
  • Providing high quality advice and assistance to Oranga Tamariki staff about the processes, procedures and requirements relating to written parliamentary questions and Ministerial correspondence
  • Actively and positively participating as a member of the wider Ministerial Services team
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture

Oranga Tamariki offer a step-based remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $77,886 and 86,082 dependent on experience.
