Our Facilities Management team is dedicated to maintaining these important spaces, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and welcoming for both staff and the community.
About the role | Ko te mahi nei
As Manager Facilities Operations, you’ll lead the operational delivery across multiple sites and services ensuring everything runs effectively day-to-day.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team delivering operations across community and corporate facilities
- Overseeing security across key sites, including public spaces and city assets
- Managing fleet operations, including vehicles, charging, and telematics
- Owning budget performance and making sound commercial decisions
- Building strong relationships across internal stakeholders at all levels
- Ensuring practical, effective management of facilities, assets, and access systems
This is a hands-on leadership role focused on delivery, performance, and continuous improvement.

You’re an experienced operations leader who knows how to get the best from people and systems.
You will bring:
- Proven people leadership, with a focus on capability, workload, and team morale
- Strong stakeholder management skills across a range of levels
- Solid commercial judgement and experience managing budgets
- Experience in facilities, operations, security, or similar environments
- An interest in sustainability and improving how services are delivered
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence

- Hours of work – Monday to Friday
- Position - Permanent, full-time
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $115,466 to $128, 295 per annum based on a 40 hour week.
