Game Day and Events Coordinator

BNZ Breakers

Be part of the energy. Help create unforgettable fan experiences.

The BNZ Breakers are looking for a highly organised and energetic

Game Day & Events Coordinator to help deliver exceptional experiences on and off the court.

From high-pressure NBL game nights to supporting the organisation of sponsor activations, entertainment, community events, corporate functions, and regional fan engagement initiatives, this role means no two days are the same.

If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love live events, and enjoy being the person who keeps everything moving behind the scenes, this could be your next big career move.

What’s the role?

As the Game Day & Events Coordinator, you’ll work alongside the Game Day & Events Manager to deliver professional basketball game days and a schedule of commercial, corporate, and community events throughout the year.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating logistics and event operations, supporting fan engagement and entertainment elements, and ensuring all game-day delivery aligns with NBL standards and expectations.

This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years’ experience in sports, events, entertainment, venue operations, or hospitality activations who is ready to step into a high-energy professional sports environment.

What You’ll Be Involved In

  • Coordinate operational delivery across game days and events, including run sheets aligned with NBL regulations, timing, and broadcast expectations
  • Help deliver game day entertainment (talent, performers, in-game activations) and pre-, in-, and post-game fan engagement and sponsor activations
  • Manage event accreditation (staff, media, VIPs, suppliers) and coordinate volunteers, ensuring they're well briefed and supported
  • Support the planning and delivery of community, corporate, and regional events outside of scheduled NBL home games
  • Work across internal teams, venue staff, suppliers, and league officials to ensure delivery meets health & safety, venue, and NBL compliance requirements
  • Problem-solve in real time while staying calm, professional, and solutions-focused

A Bit More About You

You’re someone who genuinely enjoys the atmosphere and pace of live events. You know how to stay organised under pressure, communicate clearly with a range of people, and step in wherever needed to help the team succeed.

We’d love to hear from you if you bring:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in events, sports operations, activations, venue coordination, or similar environments
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders, including fans, suppliers, sponsors, media, and VIP guests
  • Experience supporting live event delivery, run sheets, or volunteer coordination
  • A proactive, adaptable, and team-focused attitude
  • The ability to work flexible hours and long days, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • A genuine passion for sport, live entertainment, and fan engagement
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
