At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens (WMK), we're proud to support 135 kindergartens across a variety of regions—from Taranaki, Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Manawatū, Kāpiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also offer a unique home-based service, Etu Ao, in Porirua and Levin, with a special focus on Pasific families.

Today, more than 6,000 children are part of the Whānau Manaaki kindergarten family, with an additional 150 children enrolled in our Etu Ao home-based programme. Together, we're building strong foundations for lifelong learning and wellbeing.
Community Description
Brian Webb Kindergarten is located in the suburb of Tawa, in Northern Wellington, and is close to Porirua city. The diverse Brian Webb learning community incorporates a wide mixture of ethnic, cultural and socio-economic families.
The kindergarten continues to strengthen relationships with the local schools and to collaborate and connect with Tawa community to lift the profile of the kindergarten. Our philosophy and teaching philosophy states Te Tiriti o Waitangi underpins all we do.
Brian Webb Kindergarten feeds into several different schools. We are licenced for 41 children who attends for 6 hours each day. Brian Webb is a full year kindergarten and opens during the term break. You will join our team of 4 other teachers. You will be flexible and ready to engage with tamariki and Kaiako in the environment.
This is a fixed term role to cover parental leave starting July and ending on 18 December 2026.

We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE kaiako who:
- is culturally responsive to a diverse community of learners and will work collaboratively to support the team to weave a bicultural curriculum valuing language, culture and identity
- will bring innovative ideas and knowledge and who wants to continue their own learning journey through professional learning and development
- is committed to play based learning in a strong socio cultural context
- works in partnership with whānau and tangata whenua to increase responsiveness, enacting Te Tiriti o Waitangi through building their own knowledge and skills
- has experience in evaluative practices such as assessment, review and has an improvement focus.
