Principal Integration Engineer - C# .Net

Salary: $160K - $190K

Working Arrangement for candidates based in Auckland: Hybrid/2-3 days onsite per week

Working Arrangement for outside Auckland: Remote (onsite 4 times per year)

About the Role

• We are seeking an experienced Lead or Principal Engineer to join a high performing engineering environment focused on large scale API development and system integration.
• This is a senior level role where you will combine hands on engineering expertise with technical leadership. You will play a key role in designing and building scalable integration solutions across complex enterprise systems, while mentoring engineers and contributing to engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build high volume, scalable APIs across enterprise platforms
• Develop and support event driven architectures using Kafka
• Build and maintain synchronous integration processes across systems
• Integrate internal platforms with third party vendor solutions
• Collaborate across digital, mobile, CRM, and other enterprise systems
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to engineering squads
• Influence architectural decisions and promote best practice engineering standards

Skills and Experience

Must Have

• Strong experience with C# and .NET to build APIs in enterprise environments
• Experience with Kubernetes and API gateway technologies such as Kong
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions or similar tooling
• Experience working with Kafka or similar event driven technologies
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Experience working in cloud native environments
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience

Nice to Have

• Exposure to workflow or orchestration tools such as Temporal
