We’re looking for a Website Support Analyst to support Stats NZ’s website redevelopment project. This is an entry-level opportunity where you’ll help prepare, review, configure, test and process content for a new website, supporting the team to ensure migrated content is accurate, well-structured and easy for users to find.
You’ll work alongside experienced project, change, data and communications professionals, gaining practical experience in digital workflows, content management, website testing, metadata/tagging and documentation. This role would suit someone curious, detail-focused and keen to build foundational skills in digital communications, data systems and public service delivery.
What you bring | Nōu te rourou
- A relevant tertiary qualification, working towards one, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Confidence using everyday office technology and Microsoft products, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, online meetings and chat tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good reading comprehension and the ability to write clearly for varied audiences.
- High attention to detail, accuracy and an analytical mindset, including the ability to check content, follow test plans and document issues clearly.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, follow instructions and work both independently and with supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative approach to working in a project team environment.
- An interest in data, digital content, websites or how information is used to support better decisions - previous website or CMS experience, such as Drupal, would be an advantage but is not essential.
We recognise that valuable skills can come from a range of industries, including unpaid work. We welcome and value all forms of transferable skills. Please bring your full unique self to your application.
For all our roles, we’re looking for people who:
- Act with integrity, take responsibility, and do what’s right even when it’s hard.
- Understand the ‘why’ behind their work and focus on delivering real value.
- Stay curious and open to learning, seeing challenges as chances to grow.
- Build respectful and inclusive relationships, grounded in care for others.
- Work collaboratively across boundaries and contribute to collective outcomes.
We don’t expect you to know everything. What matters is your genuine interest, commitment, and readiness to grow with us. Tell us about yourself in your cover letter, what attracted you to this role, and what you would bring to Stats NZ.
