Our client is a large, established FMCG manufacturer with a portfolio of well-known Kiwi consumer brands spanning multiple categories. Operating across grocery, convenience and foodservice, this is a business with scale, a complex omnichannel commercial model, and the market presence to give a senior marketer real strategic leverage.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will lead the marketing function as the most senior marketing appointment in the business, with accountability for brand strategy, category growth, P&L delivery and innovation across the full portfolio. You will manage a large team covering brand and innovation. You will sit on the S&M lead team and bring best practice processes and discipline to team with a real commercial lens.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a 3–5 year category growth strategy across branded and private label, aligned to enterprise commercial priorities
  • Own the end-to-end insight, innovation and commercialisation pipeline including performance measurement and post-launch review
  • Develop and deliver the annual marketing budget with full accountability for effectiveness, ROI and strategic investment decisions
  • Drive SKU rationalisation and portfolio optimisation in partnership with Category and Revenue Growth Management teams
  • Lead omnichannel strategy across grocery, convenience and foodservice, partnering closely with major retail customers
  • Embed brand governance and architecture across the portfolio, building long-term brand equity
  • Lead and develop the marketing team, building capability across digital, insights and commercial disciplines
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, Supply Chain and Operations as the voice of the consumer and brand

Key Skills And Experience Required

  • 8+ years in senior marketing leadership roles within FMCG or food manufacturing, with demonstrated budget ownership and P&L accountability
  • Broad category experience across grocery is essential; convenience and foodservice exposure a strong advantage
  • Proven track record in portfolio and brand management, including NPD pipeline development and commercialisation
  • Strong commercial acumen with end-to-end P&L understanding and a data-driven approach to marketing investment
  • Demonstrated leadership of sizeable marketing teams including capability development and cross-functional influence
  • Experience partnering with major retail customers and leading omnichannel growth strategies
  • Comfortable operating in a structured, process-oriented environment while driving strategic change
  • Relevant marketing qualification preferred
