We’re after a Business Events Coordinator to join our Visitor Economy team at ChristchurchNZ. Reporting to the Business Events Manager you will provide operational and administrative support that contributes to the successful attraction and experience of business events activity in Ōtautahi Christchurch. This position is ideal for someone wanting to grow their career in business events, who enjoys working with momentum as part of a team.

As The Business Events Coordinator You Will

  • Coordinate and prepare bids, and proposals to help attract business events to Christchurch
  • Coordinate event and famil programme logistics from planning through to delivery including some hosting support
  • Accurate entry, tracking and reporting of CRM systems
  • Provide high-quality operational and administrative support across the Business Events team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need

  • 3-4 years' experience in business events, tourism, destination marketing or a related field
  • Experience in managing multiple workstreams, including bids, events, and famil programmes, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting competing deadlines
  • Confidence working with operators, suppliers, and external stakeholders
  • Experience using CRM systems or similar database management tools
  • Desire to deliver excellent customer experience
  • Time management and prioritisation skills across recurring and ad-hoc tasks
  • Passion for the future of Ōtautahi Christchurch.

This role is a fixed term position until 30th June 2027. The position is 20 - 30 hours per week depending on the availability of the successful candidate.
