THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Data & AI Product Lead is a newly created role and a rare opportunity to help shape how AI, data, and predictive insights create value across Pāmu – one of New Zealand's largest and most diverse farming businesses.

We're already well underway on our data and AI journey. We have strong foundations, growing capability, and a wide range of opportunities ahead. What we need now is someone who can help us focus our efforts on the areas that will deliver the greatest impact.

In this role, you'll work across the business to identify where AI, data, and predictive insights can make the biggest difference. You'll help cut through the noise, prioritise opportunities, test ideas quickly, and turn the most promising concepts into practical solutions that improve decision-making and business performance.

From exploring digital twin capabilities and predictive modelling through to AI-assisted decision support, you'll have the opportunity to lead initiatives from idea through to delivery, adoption, and value realisation.

The opportunities are diverse and tangible – from animal performance and pasture management through to land use optimisation, environmental outcomes, workforce safety, and enterprise planning.

This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with leaders, farm teams, subject matter experts, and technology specialists to solve meaningful challenges. You'll help guide where we focus our investment, effort, and attention, ensuring we deliver practical outcomes rather than technology for technology's sake.

Pāmu Landcorp Farming Limited is a State-Owned Enterprise with over 110 farms across New Zealand. Our purpose is to lead the delivery of innovative and sustainable agriculture solutions for future generations.

About You

You might be a Product Lead, Data Product Manager, Analytics Lead, AI Consultant, or someone who has successfully delivered data and AI initiatives that solve real business problems.

What matters most is your ability to identify what will create the greatest value, bring people with you, and turn ideas into outcomes.

You'll Likely Have a Mix Of This Experience

• Leading data, analytics, AI, or technology products from concept through to delivery.
• Working with business stakeholders to understand challenges, prioritise opportunities, and define solutions.
• Translating technical concepts into simple, practical language.
• Using data, analytics, predictive modelling, or AI to support better decision-making.
• Navigating ambiguity and making progress even when information is incomplete.
• Bringing structure to complex problems and focusing effort where it will have the biggest impact.
• AI implementation, product management, SQL, Snowflake, predictive modelling, or agriculture will be beneficial, but not essential.

You'll be someone who enjoys working across different teams, building strong relationships, and connecting business needs with technical solutions. You're naturally curious, comfortable challenging assumptions, and motivated by delivering measurable results.
