Te whai wāhitanga | The opportunity

The Head of Enterprise Risk provides enterprise-wide leadership for the stewardship and continuous uplift of ASB’s Enterprise and Operational Risk Management Frameworks.

Sitting at the centre of the risk ecosystem, this role translates risk appetite into practical guardrails, elevates enterprise risk insight, and influences decision-making at Executive and Board level.

It is equally a design and influence role—shaping frameworks while ensuring they are embedded, understood and trusted across the organisation, and aligned with CBA Group expectations.

• Enterprise risk frameworks are fit for purpose, trusted and actively guide Executive and Board decision-making
• Strong alignment between strategy, risk appetite and enterprise risk outcomes
• Risk reporting is insight-led, forward-looking and drives action
• Emerging risks are identified early and managed proactively
• Consistent, high-quality non-financial risk practices are embedded across the bank
• Line 2 oversight is constructive, credible and valued
• Regulators and Group stakeholders have strong confidence in ASB’s approach

You are an experienced enterprise and operational risk leader with a track record operating at Executive or near-Executive level in complex, regulated environments.

You bring deep expertise in non-financial risk and enterprise frameworks, alongside the ability to translate strategy into practical application. You are credible at Board level, known for clear insight, strong narrative, and balanced, constructive challenge.

You lead with judgement, authenticity and courage—building trust, aligning stakeholders and driving meaningful uplift.
