We’re looking for a Senior Design Review Engineer to join our Design and Standards team.

This role is taking responsibility for review of design and engineering for internal and external projects through the Design Review Panel, and new developments as part of Auckland Council’s Engineering Approval process. The role will act in the interest of AT to ensure that design and construction comply with AT’s technical standards and achieve the outcomes AT is seeking.

Key Tasks will include

  • Acting as AT's design review lead for lower complexity projects affecting AT’s (future) infastructure, liaising between the project teams and AT subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Receive and review design review documentation, engaging appropriate specialist SMEs where necessary and aligning their responses to reflect a single voice of AT
  • Facilitating review meetings between project teams and SMEs where necessary to resolve identified issues
  • Provide a lead design advisory role to project teams for lower complexity projects, enabling quicker decision making on required design changes and assuring design briefs are fit for purpose
  • Review and recommend encroachment requests, departures from standards and other design reviews, where necessary getting detailed input from SMEs from across the organisation
  • Maintain the systems and processes used for design review, allowing for accurate information reporting

Ko koe tēnei | About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in (transport) engineering, construction or project management. OR Equivalent in experience/knowledge
  • 7-8 years’ experience in a (transport) engineering, construction or project management role
  • Familiar with Auckland's and NZ transport design standards
  • Experience in a design related role (including design review) as part of a wider team
