Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our Network and Property Commercial Team, based in Wellington or Auckland.

In this role, you will work closely with suppliers who are instrumental in delivering and maintaining our network. As our Commercial Manager, you will shape supplier strategies, support end-to-end sourcing and commercial activity, influence performance outcomes, and guide stakeholder decisions to enable better delivery and value.

Sitting at the intersection of delivery and commercial strategy, this role gives you the opportunity to influence how critical infrastructure is delivered across Aotearoa while growing your capability in a supportive, high-performing team.

Our team supports the wider Chorus business, creating a unique opportunity to apply your field delivery expertise while broadening your commercial and category experience.

You will have the flexibility to contribute across different areas, build relationships beyond your immediate portfolio, and deepen your understanding of how the business operates end to end.

This is a role where you can expand your knowledge, grow your expertise, and make an impact right across Chorus.

Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience

To step into this opportunity, you'll either be an experienced Commercial or Procurement Manager with exposure to, or a specialisation in field delivery as a category - or you bring a background in field delivery, network operations, or infrastructure project management and are interested in developing your career in procurement.

In Addition To That Background, You'll Demonstrate The Following

• Strong understanding of how network delivery or maintenance work is planned and delivered on the ground.
• Demonstrated involvement in supplier engagement, contract management, or commercial decision making.
• Ability to assess cost, value, and trade-offs to support sound, practical outcomes, with a natural curiosity to understand the broader context.
• Confidence building trusted relationships across operational and corporate stakeholders, including influencing through change.
• Clear, structured communication with the ability to bring others on the journey.
