People Systems Analyst

We’re looking for a People Systems Analyst to take ownership of a portfolio of People systems and ensure they are well-configured, stable, and delivering real value to the business.

Te tūranga | The role

In this role, you’ll provide product-style ownership across a defined portfolio of People systems. You’ll translate business needs into clear design intent, prioritise change based on value and risk, and partner closely with Technology and vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.

You’ll play a key role in balancing day-to-day system stability with continuous improvement, ensuring changes are well-governed and aligned to the wider systems landscape.

Ngā mea ka mahia e koe | What you’ll do

• Own and manage the functional backlog across your People systems portfolio
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical design inputs
• Prioritise system enhancements and fixes based on business value, risk and operational impact
• Review and approve system designs and workflows to ensure alignment with agreed standards
• Coordinate testing, UAT, and readiness activities for system changes
• Partner with Technology teams and vendors to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes
• Maintain system stability and reduce operational and data risk through well-managed change
• Escalate risks, dependencies and trade-offs clearly to support decision-making

Ō pūkenga | What you’ll bring

• Experience working with People systems (e.g. HRIS, payroll, or workforce platforms)
• Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate business needs into system design
• Confidence prioritising competing demands and balancing value, risk and delivery trade-offs
• Experience supporting system change, testing and implementation
• A collaborative approach with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
• Clear, concise communication – able to explain technical concepts in plain English
