Lead a Workforce Identity squad within the I&I Platform, owning services across identity governance, workforce IAM, and directory services. Accountable for outcomes across service, technology and process.

Mo te tūranga | About the role

As an Associate Product Owner, you’ll play a key role in leading the delivery of service and experience outcomes within your squad.

You’ll translate customer and business needs into a clear, prioritised backlog—enabling consistent, high-quality delivery. Working closely with engineering, design, and stakeholders, you’ll use data and insight to continuously evolve and improve the experiences we deliver.

This is a role where you’ll balance strategy and execution—connecting long-term platform direction with day-to-day delivery.

In this role, you will also lead an integration-focused squad within the I&I Platform, owning delivery across API, event streaming and middleware. You’ll be accountable for outcomes across service, technology and process.

Core Scope

  • Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) platforms (GetIT, ARM)
  • Workforce IAM services (Joiner / Mover / Leaver flows, access lifecycle)
  • Directory services (AD, Azure AD / Entra ID)
  • Access management, authentication and policy controls

Key focus

  • Drive migration from legacy middleware (BizTalk) to modern integration patterns
  • Lead adoption of event-driven, cloud-native and containerised platforms
  • Shape the roadmap for Temporal, Confluent Cloud and cloud API platforms

  • Drive modernisation of identity governance and access workflows
  • Improve automation across access request, approval and certification
  • Strengthen integration between IGA, IAM and directory platforms
  • Support uplift to cloud-based identity and access services

Technical depth

    • Identity governance and access lifecycle management
    • AD / Azure AD (Entra ID) and directory services
    • Authentication, RBAC / ABAC, privileged access concepts
    • Security, audit, compliance and controls in enterprise environments

We’re looking for someone who is both outcome-focused and collaborative, with a strong ability to connect people, insights, and delivery.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in product, service delivery, or agile environments
  • Experience owning or contributing to integration platforms or services
  • Hands-on exposure to integration technologies (APIs, Kafka, middleware)
  • Experience contributing to modernisation or cloud transformation initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability
  • Confidence influencing and aligning stakeholders
  • A customer-first mindset, supported by data and insight
  • An understanding of risk, compliance, and operational considerations
  • Experience working with cross-functional squads (engineering, design, product)
  • An ability to balance short-term delivery with longer-term platform evolution
