Each day will bring challenge and variety and, overall, as a Civil Design Engineer you can expect to:

  • Deliver design projects on time and to budget, while meeting clients’ needs and expectations
  • Guide and train less experienced design staff
  • Communicate proactively and positively, ensuring that team members, managers, and clients are well informed of your project tasks
  • Collaboratively undertake conceptual designs through to detailed design, contract procurement, and construction administration with a small team
  • Proactively take on learning opportunities to improve your technical skills, design process, and explore new technology
  • Demonstrate effective communication, presentation, networking, and consulting skills
  • Foster client relationships that contribute to repeat business

Mōu Ake – About You

Your passion, design, and problem-solving mindset will be matched with a desire to work as part of a team on meaningful and significant multidisciplinary projects. You will also:

  • Have a qualification in Civil Engineering with four to six years’ previous design experience in a consulting or construction environment, working on infrastructure projects across the water, energy, and/or transport markets
  • Have experience in general civil site design, stormwater design, and/or road and transport design (required)
  • Bring a ‘can do’ attitude and enjoy working in teams
  • Be passionate about learning from others and developing yourself & others
  • Be a self-starter – proactive and motivated to deliver great solutions for your clients

Although not essential, experience with design packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer (ORD), or 12D would be regarded favourably.

We also like to have fun along the way, so a good sense of humour will hold you in good stead.
